Fairfield, NJWest Essex Graphics (WEG), a full-service design, prepress and flexographic plate-making provider with locations in New Jersey and Indiana, has completed an expansion of its Fairfield, NJ facility. The expansion allows for the installation of the companies third 50” x 80” inline plate processor, as well as an additional dryer/ light finishing unit.

The plant expansion and infrastructure investment comes as West Essex Graphics moves toward three-shift, round-the-clock plate making to service its growing client roster. With a customer base that reaches the West Coast, the expanded shifts also will help the company meet deadlines of clients across various time zones.

West Essex Graphics is a full-service design, prepress and flexographic image carrier provider dedicated to serving customers throughout the entire packaging process. The company has the capability to either serve as a turnkey, concept-to-shelf prepress, packaging and print management provider, or work collaboratively with customers or third-party printers and converters of packaging.

Prepress and Print Industry Veteran Brings 25 Years of Experience to Rapidly Growing Company

Ryan Dufour, Sr. Acct Manager for West Essex GraphicsFairfield, NJWest Essex Graphics (WEG), a full-service design, prepress and flexographic plate-making provider, has hired Ryan Dufour as Senior Account Manager. Mr. Dufour will be responsible for generating sales, managing new accounts and providing technical support to the company and its clients.

Prior to joining WEG, Mr. Dufour spent 17 years as General Manager for 360 Imaging Inc. located in Gardner Ma. In addition to considerable management experience, he has accrued proficiency in a wide range of industry specialties, including prepress, color management, flexo platemaking and seamless sleeves. His experience and knowledge will serve to be a valuable resource for both WEG clients and sales associates.

Founded in 1949, West Essex Graphics offers an extensive array of prepress services, including design concepts, artwork, 3D rendering, color management, Electronic Imaging and Image carriers. With facilities in New Jersey and Indiana, WEG is positioned to support an expanding customer base and growing suite of services. The company has the capability to either serve as a concept-to-completion provider of graphic services, or work collaboratively with customers or third party providers.

Originally from Massachusetts, Mr. Dufour earned a degree in Fine Arts from Mount Wachusett College in 1994.

Midwest baker Aunt Millie's turns to West Essex Graphics to develop centralized workflow for packaging

Aunt Millies logoEnsuring proper design and artwork production is crucial for any company’s products, as customer loyalty is influenced by an individuals’ ability to visually recognize a brand.

Initially Aunt Millie’s, one of the top five bakers in the United States, relied on New Jersey-based West Essex Graphics (WEG) only for complex projects. Since then WEG has gone on to manage all of Aunt Millie’s SKUs. To achieve a centralized workflow for its graphics and prepress work, Aunt Millie’s leaned heavily upon WEG’s expertise to streamline its own internal graphics design processes. Meanwhile, Aunt Millie’s would continue to rely upon WEG for all of its art, prepress and printing plates, as well as a number of related responsibilities.

Despite some initial doubts concerning cost, Aunt Millie’s realized that the benefits would quickly offset the initial investment. WEG utilized a centralized model of workflow including an online, Cloud-based approval system to streamline Aunt Millie’s graphics needs, while data collection and ongoing reporting of Key Performance Indicators provide actionable business metrics. WEG also offers a Print Quality Management system to monitor the print quality standards from packaging suppliers.

Additionally, WEG standardized the prepress process, which eliminated project handoffs and reduced overall cycle time. Consistency in color, graphics and print eliminated the need for Aunt Millie’s staff involvement resulting in additional cost savings. The implementation of WEG’s centralized workflow model eliminated the need, and thus the expense, associated with packaging services.

Presently, Aunt Millie’s utilizes WEG’s decades of industry knowledge and expertise to provide solutions and management for the company’s various projects.

Of late, WEG also has taken on additional responsibilities for the Classic Aunt Millie’s products. With the overarching goal of maintaining brand recognition and customer loyalty, WEG has provided effective renderings for a number of these products. Due to WEG’s efficient in-house processes, the integrity of all artwork and brand recognition is properly maintained across various products and substrates.
